MR. JOHN A. JONES-Senior Advisor (Energy Finance)

Educated at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island, Mr. Jones has in the past 38 years been engaged in advising services and sourcing project finance for and on behalf of major national and international oil companies.

Between 1964 and 1980, he was an Investment Banker on Wall Street in New York and Vice-President of the old line firm, Moseley Hallgarten Eastabrook & Weeden (founded in 1840). He was also adviser to Governor Nelson Rockefeller of New York State, USA. Between 1980 and 1997, he was retained for the purpose of structuring and implementing project finance programmes for various gas, petrochemicals and power projects by the following Companies: Chevron, NNPC, Foster Wheeler Engineering, Union Carbide, Stone & Webster, Honeywell, B.F. Goodrich, General Electric Company (US), Amoco, NEPA, Mobil, Waste Management Corporation and Banque Lazard Freres & Cie. He was also retained by Union Carbide, Sanofi (affiliate of Elf Aquitaine), IBM World Trade, Merck Sharpe & Dohme and Pfizer Corporation for the rescheduling of London Club’s Nigerian debt.

In addition, he was Finance Adviser to Edo State Electricity Board and founded the Niger Delta Exploration & Drilling Fund. Between 1998 and present, he is retained by Newfield Exploration (formerly Huffco) to advice on exploration/production joint ventures in Nigeria and the Government of South Africa’s National Oil Company, SOEKOR. He is presently the Finance and Energy Adviser to African Petroleum Plc and currently advising numerous Multinational and Nigerian Hydrocarbon Companies regarding strategies for upstream production and reservoir financing.

 

MR. O.A. KADIRI – Senior Advisor (Corporate Finance)

Mr. Oladele Kadiri, who holds a B.Sc. (Hons) Economics, is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years post-qualification experience. He was one of the officers of the Central Bank of Nigeria who pioneered the take-off of the Securities and Exchange Commission, where he distinguished himself for over 15 years notably as Director & Head of Corporate Finance before his voluntary retirement in 1994.

 

DR.G.O. ELIAS; SAN – Senior Advisor (Capital Markets)

Dr. Gbolahan O. Elias is the Principal Partner of G.O. Elias & Co. A graduate of the Magdalen and Merton Colleges of Oxford university, Dr. Elias has for over 17 years been in active legal practice both in Nigeria and the United States of America where he worked for four years at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, a leading New York law firm.

He has also worked in credit and published a book and nine research papers on contemporary legal issues in Corporate Finance, Foreign Investment, Administrative Law, and the Nigerian regulatory environment.

 

MR. V.C. NWANERI – Senior Advisor (Economic & Project Finance Consultancy)

Mr. Vitalis C. Nwaneri was the pioneer Executive Chairman of ABC Merchant Bank Limited. A holder of B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc degrees of the London School of Economics and Political Science, Mr. Nwaneri has over 9 years working experience at the World Bank where he rose to the position of Senior Project Economist and worked in many countries in Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa. He is presently the Executive Chairman of Vacon Group of companies and is currently pioneering the establishment of the First African Commodities & Futures Exchange.

 

CHRIS EKEIGWE – FCA, CPA-Massachusetts, CISA, CFE; Senior Advisor (Audit & IT)

Mr. Ekeigwe is a Chartered Accountant of international repute with core information & communications technology (ICT) as area of competence. He worked for Akintola Williams, Deloitte and Touche for twelve years in Nigeria and the United States of America.

He now runs Charterhouse Consulting and EDP Audit & Security Associate Firm he founded after leaving Akintola Williams, Deloitte and Touche. He has broad eclectic experience transcending Accounting and Auditing. He has consulted for blue chips and major government agencies in the areas of IT governance, IT audit and security, IT implementations, including IT strategic planning for a major OPEC nation. Ekeigwe is a much sought after, public speaker on a broad range of business and management issues and has been invited by the Canadian Government to Africa Direct Investment Summit in Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal. He currently holds positions as Trustee, Vice President and Working Committee Chairman of Nigeria-Canada Chamber of Commerce as well as Chairman- IT Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He is also a Senior Adviser – Audit & Financial Controls with SGTC Plc particularly in their Governance Audit, Corporate Restructuring and ICT Programmes.

 

BARR. ONYEBUCHI ANIAKOR – Senior Advisor (Corporate Law)

Mr. Onyebuchi Aniakor is an LL.B (Hons) graduate of the University of Benin, Benin and Masters Degree in Law holder of the University of Lagos. A solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Mr. Aniakor was for many years a legal practitioner with Prof. B.O Nwabueze’s Chambers, a firm of Constitutional and Corporate Law practitioners, until 1997 when he became a Senior Partner with the law firm of Onyebuchi Aniakor & Co.

He has since year 2000 been involved as a Senior Advisor – Legal transactions with Summa Guaranty & Trust Co. Plc in Capital Market strategies, Restructuring of Financial Institutions and Governance Audits.

 

CHRIS N. ADIBE - Senior Advisor (Corporate Finance)

Mr Chris N. Adibe is a graduate of Harvard College (1975) and holds the degree of Master of Business Administration (1977). A corporate Finance Executive in the International Merchant Bank Limited, (1980 - 1987), Managing Director and Chief Executive African Continental Bank Plc. (1988 - 1991). He now manages Adgaret Consultants Limited, a consulting company that specialises in post – Acquisition Due Diligence Audit, corporate finance and cost investigations.
